Full of enjoyable stories of love, romance, seeking, and finding. It’s a fun book, and like most Winterson novels, seems to dig into little crevices in your heart and mind you didn’t know existed.
Unfortunately, the dialog is pretentious and overworked and the novel floated a bit much for my taste…I didn’t end up caring about any of the characters, and it didn’t feel like there was much to hold on to. I think Winterson’s Sexing the Cherry surpassed everything this book strove to do with wandering, mythical storyweaving, and I would recommend reading that first! Afterward, come back to this if you want more.
