While it certainly had interesting, funny, and sometimes even wise moments, thoughts, emotions, and characters, the book felt a little dull throughout.
I continued reading for the “twist ending,” which, while I won’t spoil it for you, I would caution is not nearly as interesting, surprising, nor great as I was hoping for. Neither does it tie up many loose ends and questions which made you imagine there was more intrigue or self-delusion going on than there turned out to be.
If this already shorter work of fiction were significantly shorter and plodded along less, I could easily see giving it four stars and maybe a rereading. As it is though, I wouldn’t suggest it.
